Mayor Lili Bosse stopped by the Roxbury Community Center to recognize the Roxbury Knitting Group this week. Started in 2002, the group meets every Wednesday to create works of art that are then donated to organizations such as the American Heart Association, Children’s Hospital, Cedars-Sinai and other nonprofits. The group donates an average of 10 items per week, which adds up to 520 items a year. Bosse is pictured with longtime knitter and group creator, Helen Hakimi, holding a proclamation that recognizes the group for its kindness.
