On the one-year anniversary of the Oct. 7 attacks on Israel, a tree at Hawthorne Elementary School was dedicated as a living memorial for the victims and those who are still being held hostage.
On a day filled with commemorations, the Women’s International Zionist Organization (WIZO) hosted a memorable event of its own for the Beverly Hills community.
At its Sept. 26 meeting, the Planning Commission reviewed a request from Four BJD, LLC for a density bonus permit to construct an 8-story, 56-unit mixed-use building at 8811 Wilshire Blvd.
The move stems from concern over projects that have permitted developers to bypass BHMC parking restrictions, which may have put a strain on on-street parking availability.
