Two City Commissions Merged

The city of Beverly Hills has consolidated its Design Review Commission with its Architectural Commission to create the Architectural and Design Review Commission. The new commission has the same responsibilities and authority as its predecessors, including reviewing the proposed architecture of new homes and buildings.

The recommendation was first presented to City Council on July 18, 2023 based on the recommendation from the Commission Standardization Ad Hoc Committee Liaisons. At that City Council Meeting, the council voted unanimously to move forward with the consolidation of the two commissions due to recruitment challenges, a shift in workload and an overlap of similar responsibilities.
