The city of Beverly Hills will lower its flag to half-staff beginning the afternoon of Nov. 27 until Nov. 30 to mourn the loss of Rabbi Zvi Kogan who was brutally murdered in the United Arab Emirates last week. Mayor Lester Friedman will also call for a moment of silence at the Dec. 3 City Council meeting.
“Once again, another atrocious, heinous act has shaken those around the world who celebrate their Jewish heritage. Rabbi Zvi Kogan did not deserve to leave this earth in such a barbaric way and we must continue to stand strong against antisemitism and hatred of all kind,” said Friedman.
