Four people snatched two designer handbags from a man and woman while they were waiting in line outside a boutique in Beverly Hills during the afternoon on Nov. 23. According to a statement from the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD), the robbery took place on the 400 block of Rodeo Drive. The victims were waiting outside one of the Rodeo Drive businesses when one of the suspects brandished a firearm. A physical altercation ensued, after which the robbers made off with handbags, cash and cellphones belonging to the victims. Officers were dispatched to the scene at about 1:20 p.m.
Video widely shared on social media shows the incident taking place at the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Brighton Way. In the video, several people in black hoodies with their faces covered are seen running from the scene. One appears to be holding a handbag as he flees. It also shows the victims on the ground, with several people running toward them.
