A Grateful City Hosts Retirement Party for Hunt-Coffey

Nancy Hunt-Coffey struggled to hold back tears as she spoke at her retirement party on June 25.

“I’ve just been so fortunate … never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would become city manager of this fine city,” she said. “I want to thank you all so much.” Hunt-Coffey, who will step down from her role as city manager of Beverly Hills on July 3, was feted in her upcoming retirement by a room full of current and former coworkers, elected officials, friends and family at the City Hall Municipal Gallery. Featuring two long buffets with food ranging from sushi to mac and cheese to chocolate and vanilla cake, the party also included a purple and white balloon archway with a photo setup, clothed tables and dance music.
