As Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) prepares to take on oversight and management of the city’s preschool program and add an early childhood center, educators in the district are thrilled to be able to offer a path of continuity for local families.
“When these children start from very young, they’re going to know me because I am going to know all of the families, all of the children, and all of the parents,” Laurie Galen, BHUSD’s head preschool teacher, told the Courier. “Even if I’m not directly teaching every single one, they’re going to see our faces. I want these families to feel confident, and I want them to trust us, and we’re going to build this community together.”
