City Launches Historic Preservation Awards

Beverly Hills Mayor Craig Corman and the City Council, along with the Cultural Heritage Commission, hosted the inaugural Historic Preservation Awards Program on May 27. The awards are designed to recognize outstanding contributions to the community’s rich architectural and cultural history. 

For more than a decade, the city has worked to preserve and recognize historic resources with the designation of Landmarks, awarding of Golden Shield Awards, and now the Historic Preservation Awards Program. The awards presented on May 27 included:

 

Restoration and Preservation Award

• Pendleton-Evans Residence

• Fine Arts Ahrya Theatre

 

Renovation and Rehabilitation Award

• 9595 Wilshire Boulevard

• 9231 Olympic Boulevard

• Givenchy – Anderton Court at 332 North Rodeo Drive

• TRM Services for the Hillcrest Shelter Rehabilitation Project at 900 Hillcrest Road

• Saban Theatre at 8440 Wilshire Boulevard

 

Historic Site Stewardship Award

• Friends of Robinson Gardens

 

Historic Awareness and Education Award

• Phillip Savenick (deceased)
