The 76 gas station located at Crescent Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard has been purchased by Alex Canter, a fourth-generation member of the family behind Canter’s Deli. Along with a group of investors and advisors, Canter plans to turn the station’s existing food mart into Maggie’s, the first location of a new upscale convenience store experience.
Speaking to the Courier, Canter, who has been listed on the “Forbes 30 Under 30” and “Business Insider’s Top 33 Food-Tech Power Players,” said that he began working on the project in 2024. After looking at sites across Los Angeles, he and his team were able to connect with the 76’s previous owners, a family who have held the station for over 60 years.
