Beverly Hills Fire Department (BHFD) Chief Greg Barton announced his retirement in July. His last day was Oct. 17, and the department has enlisted Trevor Richmond, the assistant fire chief and fire marshal, to serve as the temporary chief as the city finalizes its hiring of a new chief.
Barton was not at liberty to say who is in the running for chief.
