The Beverly Hills City Council approved an update to the city’s accessory dwelling unit (ADU) regulations to comply with recent changes in state law at its Aug. 4 regular meeting.
The amendments change the city’s ADU ordinance to better distinguish between state-mandated requirements and local standards to reduce the need for repeated code revisions as state law changes, according to the staff report. The Planning Commission unanimously recommended the ordinance at its June 11 meeting.
