The Beverly Hills Planning Commission at its May 28 meeting conditionally approved a request for a development plan review and density bonus permit to allow for the construction of a new seven-story, 14-unit multifamily residential building located at 349 North Oakhurst Drive. 

The Recreation and Parks Commission reviewed its Work Plan Priorities for the upcoming 2026-27 year, as well as updates to the La Cienega Park playground and pickleball courts at its meeting this week.

The 2026 Concerts on Canon summer season will launch on June 4 at 6 p.m. The concert, featuring Dave Gab’s take on classic rock ‘n roll, takes place at Beverly Canon Gardens located at 241 North Canon Drive. 

The Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) Board of Education at its May 26 meeting removed the names of three substitute teachers before approving a list of new certificated hires. 

In the wake of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) D Line station opening at Wilshire and La Cienega boulevards, business owners in the area have reported little change in customer traffic.

Some 300 community members attended the Beverly Hills Education Fund (BHEF) Honors on May 21 at Beverly Canon Gardens to recognize supporters and educators who have made a difference in the lives of Beverly Hills Unified School District (BHUSD) students.

Approximately 200 people attended the the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' "The Wallis Delivers: A Spring Gala Celebration" on May 21 in Beverly Hills. 

Many are hosting events and talking to voters to make their final pitch before Election Day on June 2. 

The Beverly Hills City Council received an update on the city’s upcoming June 2 Municipal Election at the May 19 City Council Study Session.
